Essie Cocktail Bling

Hello loves! Since I haven't been blogging at all this week, today you get two posts from me. I really wanted to show you swatches of this beauty from my last haul. It comes from the winter collection and it's the second one from this collection that I've picked up (after School of Hard Rocks). I got the other one over two months ago so it took me some time to get my hands on Cocktail Bling, but I'm not sorry at all. Better late than never!

Essie Cocktail Bling, indoors, artificial light
First let me tell you that this is a very unusual color. It's neither grey, nor lavender. Depending on the light it can look grey, purple or blue. My photos are, of course, not accurate at all, but they are still my best version. I tried photographing it in the sun and it came out very very blue. One sure thing is that this is a very dusty and delicate color, perfect for winter.

Application was a breeze. This polish has a very good formula for such a light color. Depending on the thickness of your coats, you could get away with only one. I did two because I never get it right with one. It dries pretty shiny, but I did put some top coat over it. That explains the unevenness and lines on the surface, because I used a local top coat that is not very good.

Finally, the wear on this polish is nothing but amazing. I removed it after 4 days of wear with only some tip wear. My nails were pretty long and usually polish chips on me instantly when they are this long. Plus I kept bumping them on things and then looking at them convinced that I got a chip, but noticed that they were intact. I think that's pretty great. I really love this one and I'm sure I'm gonna wear it a lot, especially when I want something elegant and soothing on my nails.

  1. I personally love this color, I think it looks great on it's own, with a coat of 'Pure Pearlfection' or sponged glitter tips!

  2. I love those polishes where you can't really say what colour they exactly are, and this is one of those :) Looks so great on you (actually all colours look good on you!), thanks for these pictures!

    1. Thank you so much! I try to stay away from those that don't look good on me (really warm toned colors). But I must say my skin tone is pretty forgiving :)
