Monday Blues: Essie Stroke of Brilliance

Hello lovelies! Are you ready to be amazed? I will just pretend that today is not the first day of the week and get right to the glitter. Yes, it's glitter two days in a row over here. If you missed the other one you can check out yesterday's post after you are done with this one. The one from today is the most beautiful glitter ever. Honestly, I'm so in love with these pictures and I'm so proud of how good they came out. But enough with the blabber. Let's take a look!

I really can't tell you how much I like this glitter! This is the newest of the Luxeffects polishes and it truly is the best one. I immediately had to have it when I saw it and it didn't disappoint. It's definitely a layering glitter, as I'm not sure how many coats it would take to make it opaque. I was in doubt over what color to use as a base and I went for a softer look first. There are tons of other combos I want to try with it though.

The base is one of the lightest blue polishes I own, Essence Sure Azure. I showed this one on a Monday from a couple of months ago. The lighter base makes the large hex, medium hex and small round glitter pop. The color of the glitter is very hard to describe. I think it's sort of a periwinkle but it can look lighter blue or silver depending on the way the light hits it.

What you see in the pictures is only one coat of Stroke of Brilliance over 2 coats of Sure Azure. The density of the glitter is pretty decent, but I recommend dabbing it on the nail to make it spread evenly. One coat of top coat is enough to even it out.

  4. Ok - after seeing your shots here could not get this out of my mind - and tonight I bought it home after looking at 4 stores before I found it finally - I think I am going to put it over Essie's Lilaclism first.

  5. It doesn't look that good in the bottle, especially from a distance. But you can still get it. I don't think it's LE or anything.

  6. You should! It's really hard for us non-US girls because we have to choose wisely. But I think this is totally worth it!x
