Polyvore Collage Day: Black and Gold

Hello lovelies and happy Sunday! This week's theme for the Polyvore Collage Day was Black and Gold, so I decided to do a nail polish related collage again. I have fun doing outfit collages but nails are what I do best and this is a nail blog after all. So I decided to stay in my comfort zone and picked some black and gold polishes that I like or downright love. Let's see what I chose!

Black and Gold

On the left side of the collage there are 2 black polishes with a little something extra, that you can wear on their own. Butter London The Black Knight is one of my biggest lemmings. It has a black base filled with pink and blue glitter and gives you that galaxy nail look without doing any nail art. Revlon Facets of Fuchsia is one of my favorite polishes of all time. The black base makes the fuchsia glitter stand out and the result is so sexy.

Then, on the right side of my collage, we have a couple of gold polishes that are truly gorgeous by themselves. Barry M Gold Foil has a perfect formula (I believe it's opaque in one coat) and is great for stamping too. In the bottom right corner I added Orly Rage, a rose gold polish that is currently on its way to me. My skin tone needs a cooler toned gold and I hope this one will look good on me.

In the middle of the collage there are 2 black and gold combo possibilities. As a base I chose China Glaze Liquid Leather, my go-to black creme. It has a great formula, is very opaque and is also great for stamping. Over it you can layer a gold glitter, like Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow, but a lot of brands have them so it really depends on what you can find and what is in your budget. A new trend this fall are the 18K gold top coats. I personally wouldn't spend the crazy amounts of money that are charged for these polishes, but a lot of people like them so I included this one from Zoya called Gilty. I think it would look amazing over black (it actually comes in a set with a white and a black polish).

If you made it this far with my blabber, thank you so much for reading and please check out the other collages from this week.

  2. It really is an amazing polish. I think it's in their permanent collection now so you can still get it. They changed the name to Scandalous but it's the same polish.
