a-england Elaine (No H8 Day)

Hello my lovelies! I have a special post for you today. Here are a few words written by the creators of this initiative.

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.
Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

So today I'm showing you this a-england pretty. Elaine has been in my stash since this summer, but I knew I wanted to save it for fall because it's the most gorgeous dark purple creme I've seen in my life. Everything about this polish is perfect, from the color to the formula. It's more of a blue toned purple which sets it apart from the other red-toned dark purples I have in my stash. I don't know about you but I love dark and vampy shades for fall. This looks amazing on my skin tone because it's so cool and dark.

Formula-wise, I would say that this is a real pleasure to apply. It glides on the nail effortlessly and is opaque in 2 easy coats. I tend to apply thinner coats and that's why I had to do 2, but this is a very pigmented polish nonetheless. It dries to a very shiny finish, but I still added some top coat to make it last longer.

I think if you are a lover of purple and of vampy colors, this is a must for your collection. It's honestly worth every penny because of the amazing application. I'm so glad I got this polish and it's now one of my top 3 purples of all time.
