Hello my lovelies! Some of you know that Sunday is Saint Patrick's day and because it's a fun holiday I decided to do a little green series on the blog. I will post a green manicure every day until Sunday. I would have made it a whole green week, but I had Polish Days and Monday Blues to take care of first. Well I don't know about you, but I personally love green. I might even say it's my second favorite color to wear on my nails after blue. It's even better this time of the year because it reminds you of the beautiful spring that's coming our way. The green I'm showing you today is from the Cirque du Soleil collection and it's perfect for spring.

China Glaze Def Defying indoors, artificial light |
Def Defying is a gorgeous bright green creme. It photographs pretty accurately, so you can see the color for yourself in the pictures. There are 2 coats on most of my nails in these pictures, but there were a few bald spots that had to be fixed with another thin coat in some places. I also had some bubbles show up and the polish didn't seem to dry as fast as other China Glaze polishes. Not sure what that is all about, maybe it was just a bad day for polish.

I decided to do an accent finger with studs, and because I couldn't decide if gold or silver were better over green I used both. The studs are from Born Pretty and you can get them here (don't forget to use code MFL91 at checkout for 10% off your order). I don't know about you but I really like this look. I used to think that gold and silver don't mix well and now I'm crazy about the combo. I noticed that I have a similar color in my collection, namely Rimmel Limealicious, so I did a little comparison that you can see below.

Rimmel Limealicious versus China Glaze Def Defying indoors, artificial direct light |
In the photo they look almost the same, but Limealicious is a tiny bit more yellow toned than Def Defying. Formula-wise, Def Defying is a lot better. The Rimmel polish goes on streaky and has a huge mop brush that is impossible to work with. Both polishes are 2 coats with no top coat in the shots. I would say that even if I ignore the application, I still like the shade of Def Defying more. It looks better on my skin tone and it's just perfect for spring. What do you think?
