Kiko Holographic 402

Hello my lovelies! Yay for another Pink Wednesday! I don't often have pinks to post, but when I do I'm very happy to do it on this day of the week. The one from today is a special pink because it's also holographic. As I've shown you in my March haul post, the lovely Chiro helped me get 3 of the 4 Kiko holographic polishes. I received them last week and it has been nothing but rainy and cloudy ever since. The only sunny moment was on Friday morning, but it was very short, so I only had time to take photos of one polish before if became cloudy again. Since the pink one is the first one I decided to swatch, this is the first one you'll be seeing.

I didn't even bother to photograph this in any other lighting than the good old (and kinda anemic) March sun. As usual with Kiko polishes, this only has the number 402 on the bottle and no name. They normally have the name for the polishes on the website. Since this one is sold out it wasn't there, but my good friend Google tells me that it's called Jewel Pink. It's a darker pink with a beautiful holographic finish. The holo effect is not crazy in these but it's very beautiful. It's somewhere between linear and scattered, and I particularly like the fact that they are nice and vibrant colors.

The pigmentation for these is good and I was very happy to hear that they are great for stamping. The formula is not the easiest and needs a bit of getting used to. It has a tendency to drag and I ended up with some bald spots, which made me apply 3 coats. Next time I will remember to use a lighter hand and I'm sure 2 coats will be enough.

The polish dried to a medium shine and I took photos both with and without top coat. Sometimes the holo effect is dulled by top coat but it wasn't the case here. The pictures where I'm holding the bottle are with top coat, while the other ones are without it. It would be hard for me to tell the difference if I wouldn't know.

This polish is incredibly beautiful and I can't wait to swatch its 2 sisters as well. It seems like the sun is still hiding this week, but I will definitely show them to you as soon as possible.
