Monday Blues: Kiko Sugar Mat 644

Hello my lovelies! It's Monday so it's time for some blue. Today is also the first of April but I won't fool you with this post. April is also Autism Awareness Month and the color is blue. I will be talking more about that tomorrow with another blue post. Today I will be showing you my first textured polish. I have to be honest with you and tell you that I did not like these at all when they first came out. But the lovely Chiro sent me this one and after I tried it I fell in love with it. Here's how it looks.

The thing with this polish is that photos don't show its true beauty. It's very sparkly in reality and that sparkle does not show up well in pictures. I really tried to photograph this properly and this was the best I could do. I would probably not like this at all if it had no sparkle in it, but the truth is that it's gorgeous in real life.

The color is a little off too. It's a bit more purple toned and darker in reality. There's lots of silver shimmer in it, which makes it look like a glitter polish. I really don't know how to describe the effect but it's really amazing.

Application would be pretty easy with this polish if it wasn't for the huge brush. The formula is great and it's opaque with two coats. I have a few Kiko polishes from different collections and none of them has such a big brush. It was pretty hard to work with it and follow my cuticle line because it's really huge. The polish dries pretty fast and I wore it for one day without a top coat. I did experience some tip wear after one day and that's the only thing that makes me sad about this type of polishes. I can't really wear polishes that require no top coat because they don't stay on my nails for too long. I did try to add some top coat to see how it looks that way too. I would say that it's like a blue and silver glitter, very pretty.

I'm so glad I could try this type of polish in the end. Of course now I have a whole other problem because I need more. Have you tried textured polishes? How do you feel about them? Don't forget to check out the other Monday Blues posts below.
