Polish Days: 7 Deadly Sins

Hello everyone! Another month flew by and I found myself contemplating another Polish Days event. And this time, like never before, I had nothing prepared. I was almost sure that I wouldn't participate this month because I had lots of other stuff to do and also no inspiration. I can't stay away from such events though, and so I whipped out something at the last minute. The theme for this month is 7 Deadly Sins, which is pretty tricky in my opinion. I had a lot of ideas but none of them seemed doable, until I found this one stamping plate that gave me inspiration. I used blue because April is Autism Awareness Month and I'm trying to use as much blue as possible. Like I needed another excuse to use blue, right? Anyway, here's my manicure.

The deadly sin I chose to portray on my nails is greed. I found the plate CH39 from the second Cheeky set that is full of gambling related designs. I immediately thought of greed and also gold, so I did an accent nail with gold glitter (Essence Make It Golden). The base color for the whole manicure is my beloved Essie Mesmerize. This royal blue is so beautiful that it needs to show up more on my blog.

As it usually happens with things done in haste, I'm not fully happy with this manicure. I kinda like the fact that the stamping is so subtle, but I would have liked my designs to stand out a bit more. I stamped with Kleancolor Metallic Black and that wasn't such a great idea since the shimmer makes the stamping even less visible because of the glare. I tried all sorts of angles for my photos to make the stamping more visible. The photo below is the best I could do. Sorry for the weird angle.

I really like these images and I will probably use them again. Maybe next time I will work it out to have a bit more contrast. I hope you enjoyed my post and I will leave you with the other Polish Days ladies, who surely did a better job than me.

  7. Does it look matte? It's actually glossy. I had a lot of trouble with the photos because it was so glossy. Thanks!
