Polish Days: To Boldly Go

Hello my lovelies! I hope you are doing better than me today. I'm overly stressed with graduation stuff and exams coming up, so blogging is pretty hard since I can't really concentrate on anything. Another month went by and the time has come for another Polish Days event. I wouldn't miss it for the world! This month's theme is sci-fi and space related, so I decided to go exactly where the name takes me. "To boldly go where no man has gone before": Star Trek.

I am not a huge Star Trek fan myself, but I used to watch it with my mom when I was younger. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is a big fan. A while ago I used a certain stamp for a manicure and he told me it resembled a Borg cube, so that's how this mani was born. If you don't know what a Borg cube is, I can tell you that it's a huge vessel that looks like this. I did my best to create the effect of the cube on my nails and you can judge by yourself if I achieved my goal.

The base color I used for this was Essence Jacob's Protection, because I think it somehow resembles space. I stamped the Borg cube nails with Kiko 400 Steel Grey (holo) and an image from plate FUN2. I stamped the image 2 times on each nail to make more lines like the cube has. On my ring finger, I used a-england Excalibur and a thin brush to draw the Star Trek emblem. I tried to capture the holo effect of the stamping in the sun, but I wasn't very lucky. You can see my best shot below.

I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of the theme! I can't wait to see what the other ladies have come up with for this Polish Days event. You can check out their posts by clicking the links below.
