Blurple Gradient

Hello my lovelies! I can't believe it's Friday already. This week has gone by so fast! I'm planning to do a nail art post each day this weekend and catch up on some of the challenges I've been taking part in. Today's manicure is from weeks ago, back when I was practicing my gradients. I have a ton of pictures in my vault and really need to write some posts but I never seem to have enough time. So this was the first time I tried doing a gradient with acrylic paints. It came out like this.

I know "blurple" is not a word in the English language and I'm not a fan of made-up words, but it comes in handy to describe this gradient. The colors I used were a darker blurple and a lighter lilac acrylic paint. Of course they photographed a lot more blue because my camera doesn't know how to capture purple.

I really like using acrylics for gradients because of a very important reason. It's a lot easier to clean around the nail. It comes off when you wash your hands with soap (after you apply top coat or else you will ruin the design). Other than that, I don't think it makes a lot of difference in terms of blending the two colors. I wasn't very happy with how this particular gradient came out, so I stamped and image from plate FUN 2 using Konad black.

In the end I was happy with the final result. But the next gradient I'm gonna show you is even better. Hope to get that one up very soon. Stay tuned!

I never thought of using acrylic paint for gradients for easier cleanup... I should try that sometime I've been obsessed with gradients lately! I really like the stamping image you paired with this gradient :)
