Calvin Klein Madly Mauve

Hello my lovelies! It's Wednesday and that means I have another untried for you. It's the last week of the challenge, can you believe that? This challenge has 16 themes, which means it's been 4 months since it started and I attended every single week. All I can say is that this helped me try out some polishes that were sitting in my untrieds for ages. Like my oldest, cheapest and most expensive untrieds, just to name a few. The last theme is "was a gift", which means I need to show you a polish I received as a gift from someone. I had a few options, but decided to go for this Calvin Klein polish that I got from Esther aka Fab Fingertips ages ago. It was high time for me to use this and it's also perfect for fall.

Madly Mauve is my first and only Calvin Klein polish to date. It's a beautiful purple shimmer with an iridescent finish. I wouldn't call this a duochrome because the shift isn't obvious enough, but you can see there's a lighter purple shade showing up in the parts that are least exposed to the light. I took a ton of pictures of this one trying to capture the effect.

I find the bottle of this polish quite strange because what you are seeing in the photos is actually the front although it might look like the back. The CK brand is only written on the top of the cap. The square cap comes off but it reveals a very strange shape underneath, one that is very hard to hold in your hand.

Despite the cap being so hard to hold and the brush being a little short for my taste, this applied smoothly. It needed 3 coats to be opaque because it's a little sheer. There was also some shrinking at the tips because of Seche Vite, which I hope you will forgive.

This is a truly beautiful polish and I wish more of its beauty could be translated in pictures. I just love polishes like this one for fall. I would like to thank Esther for sending it to me! And now for more "gifted" polishes click on these links:

Thanks for stopping by!
