Shimmer Polish Cristina

Hello my lovelies! It's Thursday which means there's just one more day left until the weekend. It's extremely cold and rainy where I live, so staying in and being cozy is probably the best thing to do. The polish I'm showing you today is a lovely glitter from Shimmer Polish. I have to be honest with you and say that I was not able to photograph this properly. I tried two different times and failed miserably. I can assure you that this is much more beautiful in reality and its beauty is very hard to capture.

The first pictures are from a while ago when I first swatched it. I wore it by itself so it needed 3 coats to be perfectly opaque. Application is very smooth with this one but since the glitter is so small you will need a few coats to cover all the bald spots.

Cristina* is made out of forest green and fuchsia glitter, so to me it is the perfect winter holiday color. I love that there are tiny green square glitters in there, although you can't really notice them in my pictures. All in all this polish gives a very sparkly result on your nails, especially in the sun.

I wasn't happy with these pictures so last week I decided to swatch it again over a green base. I used one coat of Miss Sporty 520 and then one coat of Cristina on top. I really loved the result but it still didn't show up that well in the pictures.

I do like that here you can see the square glitters better. You can get this polish and many other lovelies from their website or Etsy store. They also do custom polishes and ship internationally.

So what do you think of this polish? Does it look better by itself or layered over a creme base? I like it both ways and wish I could have captured its beauty better.

Hmm... I honestly like it both ways! I agree... when it's only one coat layered over a base color you can definitely see all the different types of glitter better... but on it's own it's SUPER BLING so it's nice that way too :) maybe try wearing one coat over a base color and do 3 coats on its own on your accent nail? I think that would look really nice

  2. Yes, that's a great idea! I love it both ways too. And it's a great Christmas polish. Thanks!

  3. Thank you! Oh yes, they definitely do. I really love how versatile they are. A lot of the indie polishes can only be worn as a full manicure, but the Shimmer ones can be layered in so many ways. They are great!

  4. This is really beautiful! I love it by itself and layered. I have yet to try Shimmer Polish but I really, really want to. They have so many gorgeous colors.
