TPA Group Challenge: Inspired by Celebrity Nails

Hello my lovelies! The TPA Group Challenge continues today with another theme, namely nails inspired by celebrities. Usually, celebrities either have their nails very neutral or they have very blingy and flashy designs on them. None of those fits my taste, so it was pretty hard for me to find something I could recreate. I finally settled for two simple designs using tape. Let's start with Rihanna. 



Everybody knows that Rihanna's nails are always original and different. She often sports these almond shaped talons that are definitely too long for me but have a lovely shape. I chose to recreate this white and gold chevron manicure  and tried to file my nails a bit more pointy even though it's not too visible in the pictures. 


These were very easy to create with the help of tape. The white base is Sation Strumming my Nails and the gold is a-england Holy Grail (new version). The second manicure I recreated is the famous Ditta von Teese red half moon. This one didn't come out that great but I'm gonna show it to you anyway. 


I picked a darker red (Essence Late at Night) because I wanted to switch it up a bit since I used red last week too. The white I used for the half moon is Orly Au Champagne. I used some sticky paper circles to create the half moons and the result was a mess. It lifted at the edges and the polish bled everywhere, ruining the perfect line. I had to use a thin brush with polish and acetone to fix it, but I still couldn't get it to look perfect. Plus my Seche Vite shrunk the polish at the tips, making them look lighter. 


All in all, creating these nails was an interesting experience. Not sure which one of these manicures I would actually wear but probably the first one because the second one didn't look that good in real life. What about you? Would you wear these nails?
