Hello my lovelies! It's Monday, it's November, it's foggy, and I don't like any of those things. So how about a spring blue? I finally got around to owning and swatching this beautiful blue from Essie's spring collection. Better late then never, right?

Avenue Maintain from the Madison Ave-Hue collection is a very bright medium blue creme. I think this is a color that everyone should have in their collection, blue lovers or not. It might seem like something you've seen before, but, believe me or not, I don't have anything similar in my collection.

The formula of this polish is absolutely amazing. It goes on like butter and is opaque in two easy coats. My bottle has the wide brush (still not sure what the deal with Essie and wide brushes is) and I didn't have any trouble with application. It also dries to a beautiful shine. I wore it by itself for a day and then decided to play with some of the nail foils I recently got. Here's the result.
I used tape to mask the upper part of my nails, leaving just the diagonal tips open. I then applied foil glue on the tips and took the tape off. I waited for a few minutes for the glue to dry and then applied the foil. I must say that I love the result, especially because the foil has a holographic effect that I couldn't really capture in pictures. These pictures were taking without adding any top coat. Unfortunately I haven't found a top coat that doesn't ruin the foil once it dries, so these didn't last very long. They were still very fun to look at.
I'm still looking for that magic top coat that doesn't mess with foils like these. If you have any suggestions for me, please leave them in the comments. I hope you've enjoyed this blue and make sure to check out the other Monday Blues of this month below!
Have a great week!
