TPA Group Challenge: Studded Nails

Hello my lovelies! Finally it's the weekend! I've had a long week and some relaxation is in order. As usual for a Saturday, I have another manicure from the TPA Group Challenge for you. This week's theme is studded nails and since I'm a big fan of studs I really wanted to make something special this time. Unfortunately it was a bit of a fail but at least the colors are bright and cheerful.

I've seen a lot of painted stud manicures around lately so I really wanted to try decorating my own studs too. Since I've been wearing a lot of neutrals and dark colors this week, I really needed a pop of color. I decided to go for a mint green theme and used Nicole by OPI Alex by the Books as a base color. The idea was to paint the studs with China Glaze Four Leaf Clover and then add a dot of the NOPI in the middle, which I did, but the minty color changed when applied over the stud. The middle dot should be the same color as the nails even though it looks like a totally different color.

Another issue was that the top coat reacted with the pigments in the stud and became somehow yellow around its edges. That's the reason why I consider these to be a fail. I still wanted to post them because I liked the color combo. They look so fun!

I hope you still enjoyed these nails and I urge you to go visit the other girls' blogs because I've already seen some amazing stud manicures. Here are the links:
