Hello lovelies! It's the first day of spring! I had something completely different planned for today. First there was the TPA Group challenge and the theme was reciprocal gradient. I tried to do one of those and failed miserably. Like seriously, it was a frustrating mess and I just couldn't try again because I was too upset. Then I also wanted to show you the February favorites but I decided to do something springy to celebrate the first day in March so the favorites post will be scheduled for tomorrow. The reciprocal gradient I tried to do yesterday was with pastels because I was in the mood for some spring colors. Instead I decided to do something more simple using lots of pastels and here's how it came out.
I started with a base of China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On and then used a sponge to randomly apply some other pastel colors on top. I also used China Glaze Lemon Fizz and Light As Air, as well as Illamasqua Caress. This kind of background is very easy to create and can be done with pastels, neons or whatever your heart desires.
I'm a big fan of the paisley print and of subtle stamping, so I decided to use Konad White to stamp the paisley image from plate BM-315 on top of the pastel background. I know it doesn't quite stand out but it goes well with the delicate pastel theme. I've used this stamp tons of times and I just can't get enough of it.
This manicure is perfect for spring! I have a big craving for spring colors right now so expect a bunch of similar manicures on the blog soon. I wish you all a happy happy spring!
