Monday Blues: Sally Hansen Pacific Blue

Hello my lovelies! I don't know about you, but I am really dreading going back to work today. Luckily, we have another public holiday coming this week so the weekend is gonna be longer, which is great. The blue I'm showing you today is really famous and I think there is no polish lover out there that hasn't heard of it. Of course that my blue obsession made it mandatory for me to own this eventually. I received it last week and had to try it out immediately. I also added a flower accent that matches the name.

Pacific Blue from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line is a bright cobalt blue creme. I must admit that it photographed a bit brighter than it looks in real life. I have several polishes in this kind of shade and they all photograph like this. And yes, despite the fact that I own several close shades I still needed this one. I think a comparison post might be in order soon.

I was pleasantly surprised by the application of this polish. I think this has the best formula out of all my cobalt blue polishes. Two effortless coats were enough, although the first one was almost opaque. I added a dried flower from the Born Pretty Store as an accent. It came in a nail wheel that contains flowers in different colors and looks like this.

I've been wanting to try dry flowers for a long time. These seemed perfect because they aren't too big and can easily fit on my nails. I used some top coat on the nail before sticking the flowers on and then applied another coat of top coat on top. I must say that the top coat changes the flowers and makes them look a bit weird. On the other hand, not adding top coat would result in the flower getting ruined in a really short time. Even so, the flowers don't look that great 24 hours after I took these pictures. The one on my left hand looked better than the one on the right, but since my left hand can't pose I had to use a different angle to take a picture.

If you want to purchase these flowers you can find them here. You can also get tons of other nail art accessories from the Born Pretty Store. Make sure you use code MFL91 at checkout to get 10% off your order.

I'm really happy that I finally got to try Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. I'm sure it's gonna become a favorite of mine, especially in the summer. Don't forget that if you wanna see some more Monday Blues you can check out the links below!
Have a great week!

  1. I have this color too and really like it! Its such a creamy blue color. Love the dried flower you used as a accent too. Bummer that adding a top coat changes the appearance of them though. They look nice.

  3. Ma uimeste albastrul asta cat e de frumos! Pacat de floricica...chiar mi-a placut ideea de floare uscata si merge perfect cu albastrul asta. La ce te referi cand zici ca e mai rau dupa 24 de ore? Se topeste cumva?

This is such a great blue!!! The flower is a nice addition too. Too bad it doesn't last very long.
