OPI Solitaire and Designer...De Better!

Hello my lovelies! It's Friday and this weekend is very much expected by me, especially because it's a 3-day one since Monday is a holiday. Today's post is all about some OPI polishes that I got to try out through the courtesy of the lovely Kinga (if you haven't already, please go check out her blog cause you won't regret it). I don't have many OPI polishes in my collection and it's definitely fun to experiment with older collections and polishes that a lot of people raved about. The first OPI I'm gonna talk about comes from the Bond Girls Collection of Liquid Sand polishes and looks like this.

As you've already seen by now, Solitaire is a white texture with tiny silver glitter. I was expecting this to look a lot more flashy on my nails because it's so white, but I was very pleased to realize that it's actually elegant and subtle. Nice job OPI! The only issue I had with it was drying time. It needed 3 coats and took ages to dry on me. I haven't seen other people complain about this so it must have something to do with my body chemistry. Or maybe I didn't wait enough between coats. Anyway, here's how it looks in direct light.

The second polish of today's post was a big surprise for me. I didn't expect to like it at all, but ended up loving it very much. Designer...De Better! from the 2011 Muppets collection is a foil that is very hard to describe. The color is not quite silver and not quite gold, but somewhere right in between. There's also some copper shimmer that makes it really unique and beautiful. It was very hard to photograph this without making my skin look weird so I apologize in advance for that.

The formula of this polish was absolutely great: 2 easy coats and no streaks, which is amazing for a foil. It's kind of a special take on the nude polish. It makes your fingers look longer without being boring. And it's not too sparkly either. Just the right amount of sparkle!

I'm very happy that I got to try and wear these two polishes for a few days. They are both elegant and classy, which makes them great for wearing at work, especially if you want to keep it professional. Which one is your favorite?

  3. foarte dragute ojele, ins apreferata mea este prima. Cele de genul celei de a doua (metalice) rar isi fac loc in coelctia mea :-)
