Born Pretty Store QA83 Stamping Plate Review

Hello my lovelies! As usual it's been a busy week for me and I haven't had a lot of time for blogging. I did however do a few nail art looks last Sunday so I have lots of stuff to show you. First up is an awesome stamping plate from the Born Pretty Store. I think you know by now that I love their plates, especially the ones from the QA series, so I try one every time they send me stuff for review. This particular plate has a bunch of full nail designs that are perfect for the stamping decal and the leadlight techniques, because they have lots of space for coloring and the possibilities are endless. I created my second leadlight stamping manicure with plate QA83* and here's how it turned out.

If you don't know what the leadlight technique is, it's basically a technique that uses sheer tints or very sheer polishes to fill in the design. I personally don't own any OPI sheer tints so I made my own by mixing cheap top coat with a few drops of polish. I currently have 4 different colors and used them all for this look. I started with a base of Sation Strumming my Nails (my go-to white) and then stamped an image from plate QA82 using Konad Black. I used the same image and stamped it a bit differently on each nail. This is possible because the images on this plate are huge (2/1.5 cm) so I was able to stamp a different piece on each of my tiny nails. To give you an idea of how well this plate stamps, I created some swatches of each image on a piece of paper.

As you can see, this plate stamps beautifully. The smudges are mostly my fault because I was in a hurry. After stamping on each nail, I used the sheer tints and a dotting tool to fill in the design on each nail. After it all dried I added a top coat making sure to be careful so the designs wouldn't smudge.

I also took a picture in the sun, which is a rare thing for me because my camera sucks in that kind of lighting. I just thought that this manicure went well with the sunshine!

I am very much in love with the designs on this plate. If you wanna check it out you can find it here. Don't forget to use code MFL91 at checkout for an extra 10% off your oder.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Stunning! This actually looked like nail wraps at first glance, then when I saw it was a review of a stamping plate I had to read on to see how you created this. Well done!
