Hello my lovelies! I'm really proud of myself because I'm not a bad blogger anymore. Even though I'm going away for a conference this week, I still managed to schedule some posts for you to read while I'm gone. The first one is this one, where I will be showing you two OPI shades that I've swatched through the courtesy of my friend
Kinga. Unlike me, she has a larger OPI collection and I managed to borrow a few of them in the last months. First up we have a gorgeous purple Liquid Sand that I really loved.

OPI Can't Let Go indoors, artificial light |
Can't Let Go is a purple shimmery texture with a fair amount of hex glitters. It's a bit more purple and less blue than it came out in my pictures and it's very sparkly. The funny thing about this polish is that I wore it mostly with top coat because I needed to make it dry faster, but I was in such a hurry that I totally forgot to take pictures after I added the top coat. So all I have are the textured pictures. Top coat makes it even sparklier but you do need to add a couple of thick coats to level it out completely.

The formula was on the thicker side, yet it was easy to work with. I used two coats to make it completely opaque. One thing I noticed about Liquid Sands is that they tend to dry slower on me and I don't know why. I know other people haven't complained about this issue but for me it seems it exists. Other than that, I really love this polish. The color is gorgeous and the hex glitter makes it even more special.

The second shade I want to talk about is a really famous one. It comes from the Euro Centrale collection and it's a shade related to my country, Romania. I'm not a big fan of the vampire reference because I think it's a cliche and Romania has a lot to offer that is really beautiful and has nothing to do with Dracula. Leaving that aside, I really liked how this shade looked on other people so I was really eager to try it out.

OPI My Vampire Is Buff indoors, artificial light |
My Vampire Is Buff is a very light nude creme, but a very warm one at the same time. That is why I think this doesn't work for everyone. I love how it looks on others but I don't really like it on me. I have a cool skin tone so this tends to look yellow on me. I wore it by itself so I could decide if I needed it and the verdict was clear: I should stay away from this shade.

The formula wasn't bad for such a light shade, but it needed 3 coats to level out properly and look nice. I only wore it for a couple of days and didn't get any inspiration to add nail art on top. After that I completely forgot about the pictures and recently remembered that I haven't posted them yet. So now you have my opinion about this polish. I know everybody loves it and I do love it on others, just not on me. If you have cool undertones like me make sure you try this before buying it because it might not be your cup of tea.
Both are very nice but I'm really liking Can't Let Go. I just love glittery texture polishes.
ReplyDeleteCan't Let Go was my first OPI Texture and I fell in love. :D
ReplyDeleteAcum imi pare rau ca nu ai facut poze si cu top coat... :)) Imi pare rau ca tocmai culoarea care face referire la tara noastra nu ti se potriveste.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same! They are my favorite kind of textures.
ReplyDeleteI can totally see why. It's a great choice!
