China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise

Hello my lovelies! It's Thursday, which means the weekend is getting closer. Unfortunately I have to work for half of this weekend so I'm really looking forward to Sunday when I will finally be able to relax. Today's post is all about a summery polish that I got to wear in October. Frankly, I've always been curious about this polish but I thought I had something similar in my collection. I got to try it through the courtesy of my friend Kinga and found out how special it is.

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise indoors, artificial direct light

First off, let me just tell you that this polish is impossible to describe or photograph. It looks more blue or green depending on the type of light that hits it and looks completely off in pictures. I used direct light to photograph it so I could show the beautiful shimmer, but I had to alter the color in Photoshop so it could look remotely similar to reality. It's still not 100% accurate but then again this polish never looks the same in real life either.

The formula was amazing and it went on like butter. I used 2 coats to make it perfectly opaque and added a coat of Seche Vite to make it shiny because it dries to a slightly matte finish. This shade inspired me to add some nail art on top, so I stamped an image from plate BM-322 using Konad Black and added some purple dots with Essence Lilac Is My Style. The result is a little weird but I must admit I liked it a lot.

Turned Up Turquoise is a really special polish and there's nothing similar in my collection. I'm glad I got to try it.  It now has a place on my wishlist. Let me know what you think about the nail art look. It's definitely unusual but I think it goes well with this gorgeous polish.
