Hello my lovelies! I feel like I say this every week, but I have no idea where the time went. It was a busy one but a great one at the same time so I can't complain. Today's post is a swatch of a pretty unusual polish. The last posts have been about some kind of nail art, so it was time for a nice swatch. After all, I really love to just talk about polish. Let's see what we're looking at today, shall we?

I picked this one up on my Brussels trip at the beginning of last month. It's one of the new Essence Effects nail polishes and it's number 23 Rock My World. It consists of a ton of grey/purple iridescent flakes in a clear base. When I first saw this it reminded me of snow and I got it for layering but after trying it out I realized that the flakes are too dense so it just wouldn't look right layered. I then decided to use it for a full manicure and this is the result.

I ended up using 3 coats to make it completely opaque. The finish was sort of weird, textured but not entirely. The bottle does say that it has a 3D finish but I don't really know if by that they mean textured or something else. Either way, I added top coat to make it smooth and also to enhance the shine. It does have a pretty shine to it and your nails look kinda icy from a distance.

This polish is definitely different. I won't use the word weird although that's what comes to mind when you look at it. I kinda like the fact that it's nothing like anything I've tried before. But I am aware that some people will hate it. I guess it's one of those things that you either like or can't stand. Please tell me what you think of it in the comment section. I can't wait to read your opinions!
That's an awesome silver polish! Pretty.
ReplyDeleteE ft "interesanta" oja asta :)) Sa nu te superi pe mine, dar e exact cum ai scris: love or can't stand :)) Culoarea imi place, insa cu textura asta ciudatica si cu flakies am treaba.
