Hello my lovelies! It's Saturday and I'm enjoying the last days of my vacation. The weather is a bit chillier compared to the last days but I'm glad that spring is finally here to stay. The polish I'm showing you today was actually part of a fall collection from a couple of years ago. I know that Zoya has decided to discontinue their PixieDust line, which is a pretty weird decision in my opinion. I thought that I should share my thoughts on this polish because maybe some of you still have access to it so you should decide if you want it before it's completely gone.

Carter comes from the Fall 2013 PixieDust collection and was kindly lent to me by a friend. I own two polishes from this collection (
Sunshine and
Chita) and I must say that this one is nothing like those two. They are extremely opaque and can be one-coaters if you are careful, while Carter is a pretty weird one compared to them. In fact it is pretty weird compared to all the textured polishes I own. It consists of a dark purple jelly base with tons of fuchsia microglitter. It really looks like a glitter until it dries and you realize it's a texture. It also photographs more blue-toned than it is in real life. You can look at the bottle to get an idea of how pink-toned it actually is.

Another weird thing about this polish is the application. I did thicker coats because I was too lazy and wanted to get it opaque with just two. After that I had real issues with the drying. I still managed to dent one of the nails half an hour after I finished painting them. So I really thing 3 thinner coats and waiting a few minutes between them would really help with the drying time. The durability was average for a textured polish. It didn't chip at all but showed signs of tip wear on some nails after a day. I wore it for 3 days and it still looked ok when I took it off.

All in all this is a really nice polish but it does require a bit of patience. I'm not one that likes to wait too long for her nails to dry so for that reason I wouldn't use this polish that often. This is a must for purple lovers though so if you are one of them I would suggest running out and getting it before it's too late. Have a nice weekend!
This is truly a beauty!! Love it on you. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteIts a very pretty purple texture!
ReplyDeleteLOVE pretty nails! why the browser don not let me join your site?!...
ReplyDeleteLa mine nu cred ca a fost asa problema cu uscarea, insa tot o consider o oja ciudata. Arata ft frumos pe unghiile tale! Nu pot sa cred ca n-ai incercat si cu top coat peste.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Marisa!
ReplyDeleteIt truly is!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have no idea. Maybe you could try a different browser. Or follow my blog on Facebook :)
ReplyDeleteMultumesc! N-am mai apucat sa dau cu top coat si dupa aia era prea roasa la varfuri ca sa mai fac poze. Si la cat de greu se usuca n-as mai incerca-o inca o data. Sunt de acord ca e ciudata.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Zoyas!!
