Monday Blues: Blue Waves

Hello my lovelies! Hope your Monday wasn't too bad! Mine was pretty good considering that it was quite busy. The sun is shining and I have a bit of holo on my nails. Today I want to show you a manicure that I created using a few things that are new in my collection. My friend Kinga had a blog sale and I snagged a few polishes and stamping plates. I also used the third polish that I got from the China Glaze House of Colour collection. This is what came out!

First off, let me tell you that this manicure wasn't easy to photograph. All pictures are taken in direct light to show the subtle stamping and the holo, so I apologize if my skin looks a little weird. As a base color I used one of the polishes I got from the blog sale, namely China Glaze I Sea the Point from the Summer 2014 Off Shore collection. This is a shade that I didn't get initially because I have many similar ones in my collection, but when I saw it in the blog sale it had to be mine. It's a bright cobalt blue creme that has quite a thick consistency and is opaque in two coats. I know the pigment in shades like this one gives a weird consistency to some of them, so I'm pretty happy with the formula.

On most of the nails I did some subtle stamping using A-england Spirit of the Moors and a wavy image from plate Fashionista 04 from MoYou London. The pattern looks like chevrons but it's kinda wavy like a water marble. The two polishes are almost identical in color so the stamping is only visible in direct light because it makes the holo come out. Finally, I did an accent finger using one coat of China Glaze Moonlight the Night, which is a mix of blue, green and copper glitter in a clear base. I was really impressed with the glitter density in this one and I love the iridescent quality it has.

The beauty of this manicure is quite hidden but truly amazing. Whenever I wear this type of subtle nail art I feel like it's my little secret. I can look at it all day and admire it but not many people observe it. I don't mind since I don't really like to attract attention. Anyway, let me know what you think and take a look at the rest of this month's Monday Blues in the links below!

Have a great week!
