I decided to do a reverse gradient, with the darkest color close to the cuticle, so I picked 3 polishes I really love: China Glaze First Mate, Essie Mesmerize and Essie Avenue Maintain. They blended pretty well together, but I had some trouble with the cleanup. The polish dried on the liquid latex close to the cuticle, which resulted in it breaking and not wanting to come off nicely. I had to scrape it off with a toothpick and then do tons of cleanup with a brush dipped in acetone. This gradient wasn't easy to create at all.
After I was finally done with both hands, I decided to add a coat of OPI Pirouette my Whistle, a lovely and delicate glitter that I absolutely love. The result kinda reminded me of a galaxy. I think galaxy nails are definitely easier to create compared to these, because they are random and don't need a lot of blending. I'm happy that I chose a gradient though, because it looks extra special.
All in all, I'm really happy with how these came out. They look great on my longer nails that I will soon have to file down because they are starting to break. So I will start thinking of manicures that look better on shorter nails. But until then, don't forget to check out the rest of the Monday Blues in the links below!
Have a great week!
