I started with a base of Barry M Cotton, my go to white creme of the moment. It's perfect as a canvas because it's opaque in two coats and dries pretty fast. The image I picked for the stamping is from plate BP-L024 from the Born Pretty Store, a flower themed plate that I've used quite a lot of times. This particular image consists of some tropical looking flowers, but after trying out a few combinations I decided that they looked better in just one shade of blue. I stamped using Mundo de Unas Black.
For the leadlighting I used my DIY sheer tints that I created using clear polish and various polishes. I really like the blue one that I used for the flowers because it has the perfect opacity. I also love that the color is not uniform, which gives a watercolor effect to the petals.
I must admit that this manicure took a bit of patience. It was totally worth it though, because I received a lot of compliments for it. It's one of those manicures that looks a lot harder to create than it really is. Don't forget to check out the rest of today's Monday Blues in the links below!
Have a great week!
