Monday Blues: Subtle Galaxy

Hello my lovelies! Sorry for my posts being so sparse lately but I figure it's better to post when I feel like it rather than forcing myself to create content that I'm not really excited about. I've been really picky about my manicures lately, I still do nail art almost every week but the results don't feel that original or unique for me. Today I want to show a manicure that I enjoyed a lot. Galaxy nails have been around for ages, so it's nothing original, yet it's one of the types of nail art that I always feel nostalgic about. Plus you don't need any skill or special tools to make it look awesome.

As you all know, galaxy nails are extremely easy to create. You only need a makeup sponge or any type of sponge really. I usually use sponge tip makeup applicators because they give a little more precision. The base I used this time was OPI Yoga-ta Get this Blue!, a dark blue with tiny shimmer that is perfect as a night sky. You can also use a creme base and add some shimmer or tiny glitter on top if you want it to be less subtle than mine.

Over the base, I sponged some white (Barry M Cotton) to make the other colors pop and then I added China Glaze Come Rain or Shine (blue) and Grape Pop (purple) on top. I realize that these colors are darker than the ones I used for galaxy nails in the past, but I was going to a conference and didn't want to have crazy colors on my nails. This subtle galaxy was even more gorgeous in reality than it looks in photos. I finished it with some silver dots and a coat of Seche Vite.

I realy enjoyed wearing these elegant galaxy nails. Hope you enjoyed them too! Don't forget to check out the rest of this month's Monday Blues in the links below!

Have a great week!
